That my friends is Las Vegas resident Kevin Na. He’s a player who’s built a reputation for slow play on the tour. Not today.
Due to Jason Day withdrawing the other day due to a back injury, Na was playing alone today and had some fun with it. Fun to the tune of a 1hr 59mins completion time. After he finished he had this to say:
It wasn’t the plan at the beginning of the day, but I played pretty quick. I played well except one hole on the front nine. I made a triple and I shot 3 over. I made the turn in 1 hour and 3 minutes. I said, Well, I don’t think I can get it under two, but let’s try.”
He stated he would rather play with a partner as he “likes to have someone to talk to,” but I’m sure he won’t complain with today’s performance. He birdied the last 4 holes to par the course. Overall he finished +13 but finished even for the day, and in less than 2 hours.
During the post-match interview, the comment, “All these years people thought Kevin was slow. It was the other guys” was made. He smiled and responded, “Yeah, right.”
