America’s Sweetheart Demi Lovato sure has come a long way since her Disney Channel days. Over the past year alone, Demi released her fourth studio album, topped the New York Times Bestseller List with her book, Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, and hit the charts with one of the hottest songs of 2013, “Heart Attack”. We also got to see her taunt Simon Cowell on Fox Network’s X-Factor and, if we’re being honest with ourselves, that was just fun for everyone. She released the song “Let It Go” for the latest Disney film, Frozen, which became the movie’s official single. It also must be mentioned that she made #26 on Maxim’s Hot 100 list.

Needless to say, Demi is all grown up. She has consistently brought an air of professionalism and honesty to all of her work and has made a name for herself that no one, neither young nor old, can ignore.

While television was how she first made her way into our hearts, music has always been Demi’s #1 passion. With the release of her fourth studio album, Demi (2013), she made another huge splash in the music scene last year, topping at #1 on the iTunes charts. This album is unlike any of her previous work, bringing a rare maturity to pop music while infusing an electronic feel on tracks such as “Neon Lights” and hitting an emotional chord in ballads “Warrior” and “Nightingale”. One of the standout tracks of the album is a collaboration with upcoming tour opener, Cher Lloyd, called “Really Don’t Care.” It’s an upbeat, undiluted pop track that will, no doubt, get stuck in your head for the rest of the week.

It is impossible to look past Demi’s insane pipes, but more than just being painfully talented, she is an artist who truly cares about what she is doing. I always look forward what she will do next. For now, she’s kicking off her North America Neon Lights Tour in February 2014. She’ll be joined on tour by the aforementioned Cher Lloyd along with other X Factor stars, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. The Peach Review® truly cannot wait for her Atlanta show at Phillips Arena on February 21st. We hope all of you Lovatics will join us!
