Atlanta United announced today it has declined its option on midfielder Junior Burgos for the 2017 season.

Burgos originally signed with the club on Feb. 2, 2016 and spent last season on loan with Tampa Bay Rowdies during the club’s final season in the North American Soccer League (NASL) before it transitions to the United Soccer League (USL) in 2017. Burgos played in eight games, made four starts and scored one goal.

The MLS offseason continues today at 3 p.m. with Stage One of the MLS Re-Entry Process. Stage Two will begin on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. A list of eligible players for the process can be found here.
