Beginning September 11, Atlantans can enjoy ‘Atlanta Eats: Daily Special’ every Monday through Friday on Peachtree TV at 9:30 a.m.! The weekday program will join its existing weekend time slot on Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
CBS tapped the Atlanta Eats team to produce the show seven days a week to satiate viewers’ desire for more restaurant stories from neighborhood haunts. Popular among television, radio and digital audiences, the Atlanta Eats team is known for providing a hearty helping of mouth-watering restaurant reviews, dining recommendations and must-try tips from hidden gems to iconic favorites around Atlanta.
“We are bringing the most influential brand for local food and dining to Atlanta’s TV screens seven days a week — giving foodies the inside scoop on the best eats in Atlanta every single day,” said Steak Shapiro, creator and host of Atlanta Eats. “Our passion for food has grown alongside Atlanta’s explosive dining scene.”
Created in 2012, ‘Atlanta Eats’ began as a one-hour program airing Saturdays and Sundays on Peachtree TV, and quickly became the second most watched show in all of Atlanta TV in that time slot.
“We are excited to turn Atlanta Eats into a daily show,” said Mark Pimentel, Vice President of CBS46 and Peachtree TV. “Atlanta Eats tells the story of food in Atlanta unlike anything else; it is the perfect companion show to ‘Atlanta Plugged In’ which will lead into Atlanta Eats Monday through Friday.”
Along with Steak Shapiro, hosts include ‘Atlanta Eats’ radio show host Mara Davis, CBS46 traffic reporter Julie Smith and tech specialist Titania Jordan.
Atlanta Eats is a weekly TV program complimented by a highly interactive digital and social media strategy. Created by Steak Shapiro, Atlanta Eats cooks up a unique combination of engaging, entertaining and informative local restaurant and food content and delivers it through multiple channels (web, radio, TV and social media). Each week, Steak goes behind-the-scenes at different restaurants to sample their signature dishes and interact with chefs, patrons, general managers and legendary local characters. Viewers tune in to discover that great, one-of-a-kind meal that they never knew existed, or to learn more about a spot they’ve always wanted to try.
