CrimeCon™, a weekend-long true crime event that brings the genre we love to live through immersive hands-on experiences, incredible guests, and the world’s top crime podcasters, is excited to be heading to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. May 4-6, 2018.
Presented by Oxygen, the destination for high-quality crime programming, CrimeCon’s™ theme for the second annual event is “What’s Your Motive?” Guests will hear from some of the world’s leading crime experts, educators, and personalities, including: CrimeOnline.com founder Nancy Grace, Oxygen’s ‘Cold Justice’ star Kelly Siegler, host of HLN’s “Crime & Justice” Ashleigh Banfield, “48 Hours” correspondent Erin Moriarty, former FBI Special Agent and “Criminal Minds” producer Jim Clemente and Gemma Hoskins, who dedicated her retirement to solving two Baltimore-area cold cases that were featured in the 2017 Netflix documentary “The Keepers.”
Viewers of NBC’s Friday top-rated newsmagazine “Dateline” will also have the opportunity to meet the award-winning broadcast’s correspondents Andrea Canning, Josh Mankiewicz, Keith Morrison, and Dennis Murphy during their first-ever conference together. The correspondents will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Ben Mankiewicz, primetime host of Turner Classic Movies. Now in its 26th season, “Dateline” is led by Lester Holt, and is led by senior executive producer David Corvo and executive producer Liz Cole, and is the longest-running primetime series in NBC history. The program airs Friday evenings on NBC at 10/9c.
In addition to seeing all the big names, true crime fans will also have the opportunity to participate in immersive experiences, including a sketch artist challenge, surviving voir dire from a seasoned death penalty prosecutor, and meeting leading true crime podcasters, including the hosts of Oxygen’s “Martinis & Murder,” plus shows like “Generation Why,” “Real Crime Profile,” “Undisclosed,” “Up and Vanished,” and 25 others, all on CrimeCon’s™ Podcast Row.
Guests staying at the Gaylord Opryland during the event will also have the opportunity to participate in exclusive events, namely an immersive weekend-long murder mystery game where clues can be found everywhere.
