Max Styler’s otherworldly production radiates sensuous energy on “Animal.” Featuring vocals from singer/songwriter Elanese, Styler fleshes out a robust house single with lush synths and deep bass tones.
Succeeding the release of his 2018 Feel It EP and Steve Aoki’s recent remix of the title track, Max Styler is kickstarting the year with “Animal.” Although it is Styler’s first original single in 2019, he began producing the instrumental for the song over two years ago, tirelessly revisiting and revising it until he was completely satisfied with the results. The final product is a stunning, upbeat soundscape, enhanced by vocalist Elanese, who was chosen as one of the four finalists on Fox’s singing competition “The Four” in 2017.

Arcade Fire’s Regine Chassagne and Win Butler, longtime advocates of Haitian music and culture, have been supporting the project, and when they heard the rough mixes from the HaitiaNola sessions, they decided to work with the band on a new version of one of the songs. “Iko Kreyòl” is a reclamation of the New Orleans classic “Iko Iko,” a standard Mardi Gras chant that many historians believe descended from Haitian folklore. In their retelling, Lakou Mizik and 79rs Gang, a Mardi Gras Indian band, trade off new verses in Haitian Kreyòl and English that celebrate the epic cultural reunion of Haiti and New Orleans. The glory and connection of these cultures are on full display as the traditional Haitian rara horns mix with the New Orleans second line swagger of the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band. By the end, the song winds its way back to its original homeland, Haiti.
In support of the HaitiaNola album release, Lakou Mizik is embarking on a North American tour this summer, which includes an appearance at Wilco’s famed Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Massachusetts.
Foals debut their new song “Sunday,” the third track from their highly anticipated forthcoming album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost- Part 1 (March 8th, Warner Music). To coincide with the release of the new dreamy and elegiac song, the band also releases a lyric video.
Last month, the band debuted their frenetic and strident song “On The Luna” and the New York Times said its “post-punk thrust, math-rock patterns, and splintered lyrics mirror the daily dystopian media barrage.”
Dutch DJ and producer Bakermat is notoriously known as one of dance music’s most talented and experimental producers. An ode to his roots, Bakermat’s newest soulful work “Trouble” combines jazz sounds with electronic production elements.
Out now on Ultra Music, “Trouble” features live brass instruments and passionate vocals by Albert Gold that makes for a smooth and emotional listen. Pure class, the harmonic track is one of Bakermat’s more sentimental melodies.
Indie, folk artist, The Blue Winter (Aka Aaron Troyer) are thrilled to share their new single, “Dream In A Bottle.”
Aaron says, “Dream in a Bottle is a reflective song about coming to terms with certain unchangeable realities in your life. Oftentimes, especially when you’re immersed in something, it can be hard to see a thing for what it actually is. Dream in a Bottle addresses these moments.”
