Propelled by Micah Martin’s powerful vocals, ARMNHMR stretches their #HammerSound even further with the striking future bass-meets-alternative crossover single “The Universe Is Yours.”
ARMNHMR’s debut album, The Free World, is set to drop early 2020 on Dim Mak. It will feature previously released singles “Save You Now” and “Silver Lining,” as well as “The Universe Is Yours,” amongst others. “The Universe Is Yours” is a testament to the power of other people in helping one find their lost self.
Los Angeles-based Producer/DJ/Dancer PENNYWILD unites global dance and music cultures on her New Noise debut “Footsteps.” An infectious bassline pops underneath lush chords and commanding chants, providing a sizzling soundscape for ballroom voguers worldwide.
The genre-bending track arrives primarily as a result of PENNYWILD’s time in Ephrat Asherie’s street and social dance company in New York back in 2014. During this time, Omari Wiles, who contributes vocals to “Footsteps,” helped open her eyes on the ball and vogue culture. Five years later, the two are bringing the best out of each other again with a dynamic collaboration fit for ballrooms and nightclubs alike.
The Last Dinosaurs are about to embark on an extensive coast to coast North American Fall tour. In anticipation of the tour, the band has released a brand new track “FMU” plus an official music video.
“FMU” is about a hypothetical conversation between Hong Kong and China about their relationship. It was initially about a break-up but the recent news about the Hong Kong riots inspired me to write for the Hong Kong people,” lead guitarist Sean Caskey recently told Tone Deaf. Last Dinosaurs – brothers Sean & Lach Caskey and long-time friend and collaborator, Michael Sloane – deliver a sound that harks back to the rhythmic 2000s indie of bands like Phoenix, the Kooks, and Two Door Cinema Club, serving sharp and polished dance-rock.
Foals debut their animated music video for “Into The Surf” off their forthcoming album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2, which will be released on Warner Records on October 18. The video explores the story of two people who are irresistibly drawn together, set against a backdrop of
Greek scenery – mountainous coastlines and clear blue water – as they seek to reconnect. Fate has other ideas though, and their goal falls agonizingly short at the last moment. The song and video were inspired by frontman Yannis Philippakis’ Greek family background and reflect themes that are prevalent in Greek folk music, such as dying in a foreign land far away from your family.
Portuguese DJ and producer CØDE raises the bar on his bouncy single “Blazin’ It,” where propulsive bass kicks and warped synthesizers power club-thumping drops.
Coming off his recent Ignition Mix for Annie Nightingale Presents…(BBC Radio 1) and his New Noise debut “Ghita,” CØDE makes a splash with the energetic “Blazin’ It.” CØDE is the solo project of Gonçalo Julião, one half of the inventive house duo Club Banditz.
