Atlanta United played Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 draw in its opening match of the Torneo de Tejas, with Houston winning the penalty shootout to earn an extra point on Saturday night at Shell Energy Stadium.
The Five Stripes started with an 11 comprised of: GK Lucas Hoyos, D Ronald Hernandez, D Enea Mihaj, D Juan Berrocal, D Dominik Chong Qui, M Tomás Jacob, M Tristan Muyumba, M Will Reilly, F Miguel Almirón, F Saba Lobjanidze, and F Latte Lath.
A host of substitutes saw time on the pitch, which will be crucial to the upcoming season. Substitutes Stian Gregersen, Matt Edwards, Adyn Torres, Adrian Gill, Santiago Pita, Luke Brennan, and Cayman Togashi were featured in the club’s 1-1 draw with Houston Dynamo.
Emmanuel Latte Lath scored his first goal of the preseason with Will Reilly adding his first assist. Midfielders Steven Alzate, Alexey Miranchuk, and Cooper Sanchez were unavailable and remain day-to-day.
Atlanta will face Red Bull New York on Feb. 11 and FC Dallas on Feb. 14 to conclude the preseason tournament. The 2026 MLS is Back opening weekend kicks off on Feb. 21.
