Algarve Cup 2014

The ladies of U.S. Soccer have taken their talents across the pond to Portugal to participate in the Algarve Cup. The United States were placed in Group B alongside Sweden, Japan, and Denmark. The first match against Japan was played to a draw but Sweden were the ones to hand the ladies their first loss in 43 games (2 years). Losing 1-0 means that we now have to fight for a chance to play for 3rd place in the tournament, a position the U.S. doesn’t often find itself. USA gets the best of Russia 8-0 in their first visit to ATL

THE UNITED STATES WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM TAKES ON RUSSIA  There were many reasons to celebrate today’s game, USWNT (United States Women’s National Team) vs. Russia: It was the women’s first time here in history, it’s a great opportunity to see soccer played at the highest level, and it gave everyone a reason to get out the house since we survived Snowpocalypse Part II.
