This weekend will be packed with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations (for those that didn’t know) and we have a few suggestions for you:

On March 15, Atlantic Station will host Atlanta’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebration – the third-annual ShamRock the Station. This great event will follow the Atlanta St. Patrick’s parade, the longest running event in the city of Atlanta. This year’s parade will feature the Budweiser Clydesdales, their companion Dalmatian and the famous red, white and gold beer wagon. The parade will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m., beginning at 16th Street and Peachtree Street and continuing south to 5th Street. ShamRock the Station will begin at 2 p.m. at Atlantic Station. Guests can hop on the Atlantic Station “Free Ride” Shuttle at the Art Center MARTA Station.

Beginning at 2 p.m., guests enjoy a variety of free, family-friendly activities including sand art, artificial tattoos, hair painting, a performance by the Mulligan Irish Dancers at 2:30 p.m. followed by bagpipe performances. Face painting is also available for $5, and proceeds go to Museum of Design Atlanta. All family activities will conclude at 6 p.m. to prepare for the ShamRock the Station St. Patty’s Day concert featuring The Ruckus, a party band that will rock the park with a mix of current tunes.

Events will be located in and around Central Park, between Rosa Mexicano and Strip. East District Avenue and West District Avenue will be open for pedestrian traffic only.  Atlantic Station

For St. Patrick’s Day, Sprinkles is celebrating with a limited-time Irish chocolate cupcake. Better than a pot o’ gold, the cupcake features Belgian dark chocolate cake topped with a Bailey’s Irish cream cheese frosting. Adorned with green shamrocks, beware of mischievous leprechauns after your treasure! The Irish chocolate cupcake is available from February 28 to March 20. The St. Patrick’s celebration doesn’t stop there. For one weekend only, the bakery’s classic red velvet cake is tinted green and topped with cream cheese frosting and a green modern dot.   www.sprinkles.com

Not only has Murphy’s been one of Atlanta’s best-loved restaurants for more than 33 years, but it is also the gathering place of choice in Virginia-Highland for St. Patrick’s Day festivities. For the occasion, executive chef Ian Winslade has crafted a special menu including smoked haddock and onion soup, Irish soda bread, Irish lamb stew braised in Guinness, corned beef with Colcannon Potatoes and parsley sauce, poached salmon with leeks, cabbage and carrots in a lemon Hollandaise. To finish the meal in a fitting Irish fashion, guests are invited to indulge in Irish whiskey bread pudding. St. Patrick’s Day festivities extend well beyond the table, because on March 17th, Murphy’s will also host traditional Irish dancers and music beginning at noon. The good times will last well into the evening and all are invited to join.      www.murphysvh.com

Get a taste of your favorite Irish flavors this St. Patrick’s Day at Del Frisco’s Grille with select Emerald Isle-inspired dishes. Chef A.J. Buchanio will offer a festive menu feautring a corned beef and cabbage flatbread and traditional shepherd’s pie. For dessert, say “sláinte” with mini “Irish car bomb” cream pies.      www.delfriscosgrille.com/location/atlanta
