The Second Annual Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival will take place in beautiful Blackburn Park on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3. Attendees can look forward to an Arts & Crafts Market, Children’s Village, 5K Run presented by Xfinity, Pet World and Pet Parade, and musical performances throughout the weekend. And the best part? Admission is FREE.

Here’s a look at just three groups that will hit the stage at the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival:
The Whiskey Gentry has a rich, warm sound blending country, rock, folk, Americana and bluegrass that will have you singing along in no time. Paste Magazine says they are a “toe-tapping, steamrolling kind of band, its fingers picking deep into fields of bluegrass…with a punk-inspired kick drum.”
The spotlight on Nashville, with its musical values and timeless traditions, is currently bright. And no band embodies 21st century Nashville more than the quintet known as Humming House. It’s the way they weave together threads of Music City’s folk, soul, and bluegrass legacies. It’s their inspirational and revealing songwriting. It’s in their acoustic instrumentation, presenting mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar and bass in fresh roles. But it’s the soulful and soaring vocals that are the emotional core and lure of Humming House.
The Southern Gothic was started in 2007 by frontman and songwriter S.M. Connor, bringing their unique brand of sunbaked, road-worn country, southern rock & soul to countless stages across the US. When not headlining, they’ve shared stages with artists such as Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Big & Rich, Zac Brown Band, Uncle Kracker, Corey Smith, ZZ Top, Heart and more. The diverse nature of the artists with whom they’ve toured reflects the diversity of the band’s sound. “It works,” says Connor in regard to the varying audiences. “We’ve played to country crowds, rock crowds, young crowds, old crowds. The response with all of them has been fantastic.” The band recently headed to its new home of Nashville to start work on their 3rd album to be released later this summer.
