We are just weeks away from the most amazing time of year and we don’t mean the fall so you can get a break from the heat. We mean we’re about to experience the peak in ‘con’ season!

Just a few months ago, con season was officially off and running with the completion of Momocon. If you missed it, it was a great time with even greater people. We were also happy to see they partnered with Dragon Con.

For those of you who don’t know, Dragon Con is the mother of all conventions that takes place every year in Downtown Atlanta. This Labor Day Weekend, Dragon Con will be celebrating its 30th annual convention. So for those of you who plan on participating, you have until September 2 to get those costumes ready!

Dragon Con is pushing awesomeness to the limit this year. If you thought it was impossible for this already mammoth convention to get any bigger, guess again. Last year they welcomed more than 70,000 fans, dealers, artists, guests and volunteers. For 2016 they’re expected 75,000 unique visitors, which means they’ll need room.

The already massive convention has expanded. It will now take place at the following places: Hyatt Regency Hotel, Marriott Marquis, Atlanta Hilton, Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, Westin Peachtree Plaza, and AmericasMart Buildings 1 and 2 (registration will take place at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel).

So by now you should definitely be interested in attending so you’ll need registration info:

4-Day Membership – $130 (until Aug. 19), $150 (between Aug. 20 & 30.

1-Day Memberships – can be purchased on-site at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel.

You can register HERE

There are tons of events taking place during this five-day celebration. Those events include the Annual Parade down Peachtree Street, the inaugural Dragon Awards for fantasy and science fiction literature, the Guest of Honor Awards Banquet, Masquerade, and Dragon Con Night at the Georgia Aquarium.

As far as guests and performers that will be attending, the list is endless. I’ll name a few: Chris Chalk, Arthur Adams, Gillian Anderson, Kevin J. Anderson, Dino Andrade, Beau Billingslea, Frank Conniff, Roger Cross, Peter David, Dave Fennoy, Jason Isaacs, Drew Powell, Austin St. John, and David Yost. To see the full list click HERE

Trust me when I say you need to be here. With this year’s additions (AmericasMart) Dragon Con will have a combined 140,000 square feet of space for gaming, dueling, grueling… drooling? If you live here, this is a must. If you’re reading this and live out-of-state, I can’t think of a better reason to come visit ATL.

We’ll keep you posted on any new developments!
