Match Preview: Atlanta United vs. New York Red Bulls

Atlanta United will make its long-awaited MLS Regular Season debut Sunday night against New York Red Bulls in front of a sold-out Bobby Dodd Stadium and a nationally televised audience on FOX Sports 1. Presented by Equifax, the match is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. EST.

After finishing up the preseason 3-1-0, head coach Gerardo Martino’s team has seemed to have already found its offensive rhythm. Atlanta scored 11 goals during four preseason matches, with Designated Player Josef Martinez leading the way (4), followed by Hector “Tito” Villalba (3), Yamil Asad (2), Miguel Almiron (1) and Andrew Carleton (1).

New York Red Bulls come into Atlanta after a midweek match against Vancouver Whitecaps in the CONCACAF Champions League. New York fell 2-0 (3-1 on aggregate) against Vancouver in CCL Quarterfinals. A match recap can be found here.
