****Sunday 12/10/17 12:01 p.m.  Atlanta United has acquired LAFC’s natural fourth-round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for an international roster spot for the 2018 season.

Each club in MLS has the rights to eight international spots on its roster. However, these spots are tradable, in full season increments, such that some clubs may have more than eight and some clubs may have fewer than eight. Additionally, there is no limit on the number of international roster spots on each club’s roster.

****Sunday 12/10/17 11:31 a.m.  Atlanta United acquire Minnesota United’s natural fourth-round pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for Harrison Heath.

Heath, a 21-year-old midfielder, joined Atlanta United prior to the 2017 season after spending three seasons with Orlando City SC. He made one league appearance, coming on in stoppage time during a 2-2 draw at Toronto FC (April 8), and one appearance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against Miami FC (June 28). Heath was loaned to Sacramento Republic FC on June 30 and was recalled on July 31.

Heath will be reunited with his Father, current Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath.

****Friday 12/8/17 4:04 p.m.  Major League Soccer announced today that the Board of Governors has approved an increase in the amount of Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) available to each club, providing teams the opportunity to strengthen the depth of their rosters with top domestic and international talent.

Following the 2017 MLS season where each club received an allotment of $1.2 million dollars of TAM, all 23 MLS teams will continue to receive $1.2 million of TAM per year in 2018 and 2019. MLS clubs may pull forward and use immediately the $1.2 million of TAM designated for 2019.

MLS clubs also will have the flexibility to spend up to an additional $2.8 million of TAM, on a discretionary basis funded by the team, per year in both 2018 and 2019, which will further enhance the quality of play across the league. Learn more about TAM

****Friday 12/8/17 3:01 p.m.  Atlanta United today announced the launch of its United Juniors Development Training Program. The program, beginning in February 2018, will give players born in 2009, 2008 and 2007 the opportunity to train under the Atlanta United Academy staff at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground.

The United Juniors program is designed to identify youth players and enhance development earlier than the U-12 level. Players selected to the program will train with the Atlanta United Academy staff weekly from February – May 2018. More info HERE
