Atlanta United returns to action on Sunday, July 15 when it hosts Seattle Sounders FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta enters the match atop the Supporters’ Shield Standings (12-4-4, 40 points) while Seattle sits in 10th in the Western Conference (4-9-4, 16 points). The match, presented by Coca-Cola, is scheduled to kick-off at 2 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on FOX.
Atlanta is coming off a 2-0 victory against Philadelphia Union on July 7 at Talen Energy Stadium. Atlanta improved its road record to 6-2-2 and has taken a league-best 20 away points this season. Josef Martínez scored his 18th goal of the season on a converted penalty in the 58th minute and Tito Villalba finished a great team passing sequence in the 76th minute to make it 2-0.
Seattle will play its third straight road match on Sunday when it visits Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the first time. The Sounders earned a 2-1 win at Colorado Rapids on July 4 and followed that performance with a 0-0 draw away to New England Revolution on July 7.
*Please note that Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be opening its gates earlier than usual (10:30 a.m.) to allow ticketed fans to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final between France and Croatia.
