Music Monday: Conrank, Beans on Toast, Airpark, The Prodigy, and Felix Cartal

Autumn is often a time for winding down and contemplating the year that’s passed but Conrank dispels this with his enthralling dub-inspired bass monster, ‘Drum In Time’. As the name suggests this tune is packed with punchy rhythms and skillful production.

With past releases gaining support from the likes of Bassnectar, Excision, Liquid Stranger, Doctor P, Space Jesus, 12th Planet, Downlink, and many other impressive DJs, it’s clear that Conrank is a talent who commands respect from peers and listeners alike. ‘Drum In Time’ is the newest track to compliment his impressive catalog and is set to be another exciting single for the global producer.

British folk/indie singer-songwriter BEANS ON TOAST is debuting his new single and video for “Alexa.” The track and it’s accompanying animated video (created using discarded Amazon boxes) is a commentary/cautionary tale that examines the future of voice-activated Internet and oncoming Amazon world domination.

Kicking things off with this spoken interlude from Beans: “This one’s got an intro that goes “ALEXA play Beans on Toast… ALEXA” so nobody can listen to it on their Amazon Echo”, the track is funny but thought-provoking– one of Beans trademarks.

Meet Nashville-based alt-pop/rock duo, Airpark comprised of brothers Ben and Michael Ford Jr. They have released the music video to their moody 70’s-tinged single, “Devotion.” The video was directed by Steve Voss. “Devotion” is off the band’s forthcoming ‘Songs of Airpark’ EP, set to be released in early 2019.

The critically acclaimed indie-pop duo, Tennis (Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley) recorded, produced and mixed “Devotion,” along with the other four tracks off the EP, at their Denver-based studio, Mutually Detrimental.

In support of their critically acclaimed seventh studio album ‘No Tourists,’ iconic English electronic music band The Prodigy will embark on their first tour of North America in eight years. Known for blurring the lines between rave and punk music, The Prodigy will be appearing at some of North America’s finest heavy music festivals this spring including Welcome to Rockville, Epicenter Festival, Sonic Temple and Chicago Open Air, with more dates to be announced soon.

The Prodigy will bring their unique sound to festivals stacked to the brim with modern rock luminaries including Foo Fighters, System Of A Down, Ghost and Tool, among others.

Felix Cartal’s music video for “Mood” just has been released. Originally “Mood” came out in May as part of Felix Cartal’s “Next Season” album (which clocked up over 55M streams on Spotify so far) but Felix felt like the story of the song needs to be completed, hence the idea to release a music video for it.

Felix has been included in Billboard’s “13 Dance Artists Who Dominated 2017” feature and his “Get What You Give”made it to Billboard’s “50 Best Dance/Electronic Songs of 2017: Critics’ Picks.” He was also nominated for The Juno Awards in 2 categories (Dance Recording of the Year for “Get What You Give” and Producer of the Year for “Get What You Give” and “Drifting Away”)
