Atlanta United announced today that defender Ronald Hernández will miss approximately 3-to-4 months after sustaining an injury to his right MCL during the club’s 2-1 loss against Columbus Crew on Saturday. As a result, Hernández will not join the Venezuelan national team for the current FIFA international window.

The Venezuelan international joins a host of injured teammates including Brad Guzan, Osvaldo Alonso, Dylan Castanheira, Miles Robinson, Caleb Wiley, Andrew Gutman, Machop Chol, and Santiago Sosa. Josef Martinez just returned last week from an extensive injury.

Atlanta returns to the pitch on Tuesday, June 14 when it hosts CF Pachuca in the American Family Insurance Cup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (7:30 p.m., Bally Sports South, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, La Mejor). The team returns to MLS play Sunday, June 19 when it hosts Inter Miami CF at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (3 p.m., ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, La Mejor).
