Holiday Hoopsgiving announces its 2022 event will include five college neutral-court games at the award-winning State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA. Some of the nation’s top collegiate basketball programs are scheduled to participate.

Holiday Hoopsgiving, which is listed as one of the top five Thanksgiving basketball showcases in the country by USA Today, began as a showcase for the top high school basketball programs consisting of top-tiered talent and the who’s who of high school basketball in the country. On Saturday, December 10, there will be a quadruple-header including Tulane vs BuffaloWake Forest vs. LSU, Memphis vs. Auburn, and Clemson vs. Loyola Chicago. On December 18, there will be a single game of UGA vs. Notre Dame. These games will take place in State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks, and be shared on ESPN Networks.

“Our goal is to show the future of basketball and to bring an overall great experience to all fans across the country,” says Christopher Williams, CEO/Founder of The VII Group, the creator of the Holiday Hoopsgiving event.

This continued in 2020 when Holiday Hoopsgiving college edition was launched and has included major matchups including Kentucky vs. Georgia Tech, Clemson vs. Alabama, Mississippi State vs. Dayton, Auburn vs. Memphis, and Ole Miss vs. Western Kentucky.

“I’m extremely excited that we’ll be participating in this year’s Holiday Hoopsgiving, which has quickly become a premier event. As the University of Georgia, we’re excited to be playing in Atlanta at an NBA arena. On top of all that, the opponent pulls at some heartstrings with me because all I wanted to be growing up was a Notre Dame football player. My father had a great run as the Athletic Director at Notre Dame, and I know he considers Mike Brey one of the best hires he ever made. On top of that, my brother Danny loved playing for Coach Brey at Notre Dame,” says Mike White, coach of UGA men’s basketball team.
