The defending FIFA World Cup champion and top-ranked national team in the world Argentina will play two June matches before they participate in CONMEBOL Copa America 2024.  The Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) today announced that the South American side will take on continental rival Ecuador on Sunday, June 9 at Chicago’s famed Soldier Field. On Friday, June 14, Argentina will take on Guatemala at FedExField in the greater Washington DC metro area.  Additional game details, including broadcast information and kickoff times, will be announced in the coming months.

American Express early access tickets will go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. local, and seats to the general public on Monday, March 4 at 10 a.m. local through www.Ticketmaster.com [Chicago match] and www.SeatGeek.com [DC match] (terms apply).  Early access seats are available to American Express cards worldwide, just one of the many entertainment benefits Amex Card Members have access to.

Argentina is led by its captain, Inter Miami CF (MLS) midfielder Lionel Messi, the current Ballon d’Or winner and The Best FIFA Men’s Player, who is widely considered by fans and media as one of the best players in the history of the game. The team’s long list of global stars also features Aston Villa (EPL) goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez, Manchester City (EPL) forward Julian Alvarez, and Benfica (POR) central defender Nicolás Otamendi.

“A tour prior to a cup is always important, especially because you adjust the final details for the debut of the tournament,” said Argentina Head Coach Lionel Scaloni.  “These two games will leave the team ready to compete.”
