Rather than portraying sharks as calculating predators, Marco reflects on how humans often create myths around danger, arguing that reality is usually far less malicious than we imagine. “It’s human to mythologize the things that scare or hurt us, but the realities are usually far simpler and far less malicious,” he explains. Beneath its playful concept, “Sharks” becomes a reflection on perception, misunderstanding, and the stories we tell ourselves about the unknown.

Critically admired composer and songwriter Peter Melnick releases his new single, “Helpless,” the latest offering from his forthcoming debut album, due in 2027. “Helpless” captures the moment when someone first confronts the heart-sinking realization that they are in a doomed relationship—and that, for the foreseeable future, everything is going to hurt. “I wrote ‘Helpless’ pretending it was a piece of musical storytelling, about someone who was stuck in an unfixable relationship,” Melnick explains. “In fact, I wrote it just three months into my own first marriage, and some part of me already knew I was in trouble.”
