ATL IS READY TO SEE MEN’S TENNIS AT ITS BEST FOR THE BB&T ATLANTA OPEN @ ATLANTIC STATION JULY 14-22, 2012

From Saturday July 14 until Sunday July 22, many of the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour tennis players will be in the city of Atlanta to participate in the BB&T Atlanta Open Tennis Championships.  While the tournament has been a staple on the Men’s Tour since 2010, this year’s tournament will be held @ Atlantic Station.  Last years and two-time defending champion Mardy Fish defeated John Isner at the Racquet Club of the South in Norcross in a three set thriller.  This USTA Southern Sanctioned Event is the first event in the US Open Series which features 10 North American tournaments that lead up the final event at the US Open in New York City.
Atlantic Station is a great area for the new location of the tournament and creates an opportunity for old and new fans to combine and create a memorable experience each day.  Some of the players already entered into the main draw include Americans World #10 John Isner (four time All-American at Georgia University), #12 Mardy Fish,  and former World #1 Andy Roddick.  Players from all over the world will be entered in this 28 singles player field and includes Japanese Sensation Kei Nishikori, and South Africa’s Kevin Anderson.  The Qualifying draw will host 32 players who will fight to earn one of the 4 spots available to be in the main draw of the tournament.  In additon, there will be a 16 players doubles field.  The total prize money for this event is $531,000.
Each week until the tournament starts The Peach Review™ will provide information on tournament activities, player bios and other information.  Once the tournament begins we will also provide a daily recap on matches, as well provide an opportunity for our tennis fans in the ATL to see how we do with our own tournament bracket competition and daily predictions. Stay tuned for more details.
