Good day again to our readers 🙂
With each day we’re inching closer to spring! and do you know what’s coming in the spring? The inaugural season of the Bikini Basketball Association (BBA) and the city of Atlanta is fortunate enough to participate with its very own Atlanta Peaches. The BBA “the epitome of beauty and game” have caused quite the commotion even before the start of their season. Having caught the attention of Yahoo! Sports, CNN, Forbes, WSBTV, and many more, it’s easy to see why people want to know “who? what? when? where?” So to find out I ventured out to a canned food drive the Peaches held during the holiday season and had a chance to speak with team owner Rodney Daniel. Once I found out they had a total of 16 players to their squad I had to ask “how many have college experience?” This fulfills the latter part of “beauty and game” as I discovered they have 3 Division I players: Jacqua Williams, Simone Trice, and Shaday Woolcock (all 3 went to Georgia Tech) and Division II girls in Michelle Keith and Keyarria Amey. His list of skill-set and attributes ended in laughter as he states “we actually built this team to win.”
When asked if there was anything he wanted the public to know about their organization he had this to say: “We’re going to be a force in the community. We have to give back first.” He also noted from the TV world they have Bambi from “Basketball Wives”, Candy Richards from “A Real Chance at Love”, and they also have Deiondra Sanders (Deion Sanders daughter) on the team. “So what you can expect from the ATL Peaches? You can expect a team that’s always in the community, always doing something positive, and at the same time we’re putting up 100 points in the gym.”
The season hasn’t even begun but owner Rodney Daniel has the Peaches set in the right direction as they focus on showing that you can be beautiful, athletic, have your hand out in the community, and have a mean cross-over at the same time. I’d like to give a big thank you too Rodney Daniel, Tadosha Long, and the entire organization for their time. Also the players who were in attendance: Mo’ Trice, LeLe Washington, Keke Amey, Michelle Keith, Dominique Jennings, Candy Richards, and Raven Chanel.
Be sure to follow the Atlanta Peaches as we approach the start of their season and discover more about these amazing young women. You can find them on Twitter and Instagram @ATLPeachesBBA . We’re looking forward to bringing you more on our new home team as the year progresses 🙂
