There is, no doubt, a long list of great things Australia has given us. Among that list is: kangaroos and koala bears, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, boomerangs…… and Atlas Genius.
Atlas Genius is an alt-rock band hailing from Adelaide, Australia, that hit the scene only a few short years ago in 2009. Their debut album, When It Was Now, was released in February 2013. With the release of two catchy hit singles this year, “Trojans” and “If So”, these guys have jump started their American success and are making waves that any band could only dream of making with a debut album.
Both singles have placed on the Billboard charts this year, they have been featured on MTV and, for all you gamers, they can also be heard on FIFA 13. If you are an avid Radio 105.7 listener like I am, it is pretty likely you have caught yourself walking around singing “these troooojansss in my heaaaaad” to yourself (even before you knew who this band even was).
Atlas Genius is a force to be reckoned with and I look forward to watching their career take off as they go into writing their second album after this fall’s tour.
