Saturday November 23, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets took on the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. It was the final game of the season for the Bulldogs and the penultimate game for the Yellow Jackets.

It only took 3 minutes for Tech to get on the board with a 2-yard rush by Running Back Synjyn Days to take Tech up 7-0. Once the Bulldogs got the ball back Quarterback Terrence Pride threw an interception (by Tyler Marcodes) which then led to a Tech touchdown run by Zach Laskey. With that touchdown they now had a 2 score lead over A&M.

As Georgia Tech was seamlessly making their way down field they were flagged for a forward pass (it was a QB option play) which resulted in a loss of down as well as yards. After A&M’s defense held on 3rd down GT settled for a FG (Field Goal). The 40 yd FG was successful, making the score 17-0 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.

Alabama A&M continued to struggle on offense and ended up punting after a quick 3-and-out series. At the end of the 1st quarter the score was 24-0 GT after a touchdown run by Robert Godhigh. We didn’t see much action from QB Vad Lee in the 1st quarter which opened up an opportunity for Justin Thomas to show off his skills. He did just that with 36 passing yards and 34 rushing yards, all in the 1st quarter.

5 minutes past until Georgia Tech could get on the board again, when Synjyn Days  ran in for a 10 yd touchdown, making the score 31-0. Things didn’t get better for the Bulldogs, a backwards pass was recovered by Georgia Tech for a touchdown. With the successful PAT the score was 38-0.

The another 4 play, 57 yd drive resulted in another 7 points for the Jackets with a TD run by David Sims. With 6 minutes remaining after that the 1st half ended with another touchdown run by Matt Conners to make the game 52-0 at Halftime.

The 3rd quarter only saw 1 touchdown for the Jackets by RB Matt Conners, which made the game 59-0. When A&M finally put together a decent drive (10 plays and 54 yards) it was capped off with a missed 35 yd FG by kicker Cesar Ramon.

Avoiding the shutout, the Bulldogs put points on the board with a little more than 5 minutes left in the game. Jaymason Lee connected with WR Demario Ross for the 20 yd touchdown strike in the corner of the end-zone. The complete PAT made the game 59-7.

The feel-good moment for A&M was short-lived. After the touchdown, all it took was 3 plays and 69 yards for the Jackets to see the end-zone once more. This time the touchdown came from RB Tim Byerly who ran 22 yards to get the touchdown for Georgia Tech. With the successful PAT the score was 66-7, in favor of the Yellow Jackets, and ended up being the final tally for the game.
