For those who didn’t know, the kickoff for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (Russia) will take place this Thursday, February 7. The Olympics are a big deal and should be enjoyed by all! So why watch the ceremonies at home when you can attend a watch party? We’ve compiled a list of places hosting Olympic related events this week and where you can watch the different events.
ATLANTIC STATION
11Alive and Springer Mountain Farms will host the Sochi Celebration on Feb. 7 at Atlantic Station’s Central Park. Guests can watch the opening ceremonies of the Sochi Winter Olympics in a toasty heated tent at Atlantic Station, the city’s premier mixed-use, walkable community.
Starting at 6 p.m., the event will feature live Russian music, samples of delicious food by chefs from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and a cash bar. 11Alive on-air personalities will film live news reports from the party.
Guests can enter for a chance to win a fur coat from Douglas Furs, a vodka prize pack from Russian Standard, restaurant gift cards and a year’s supply of chicken from Springer Mountain Farms.
A portion of the night’s proceeds will help fund scholarships for Atlanta culinary students through the Career Education Scholarship Fund at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.
