It’s almost time! 😀 We have been anxiously waiting for this year’s Atlanta Caribbean Carnival and we are officially 6 days away 😀 Literally, thousands line the streets of downtown Atlanta and watch/follow the parade from beginning (Civic Center Marta Station) to end (Morris Brown Stadium).
This year you’ll have TWO options for post-parade fun! There’s a huge party with epic performances by artists like Kerwin Du Bois (definitely a favorite), Blaxx, Mr. Killa, Farmer Nappy, and more! Taking place at Underground Atlanta (you might have seen them recently on 11 Alive News!) from Noon to 10pm. You can get your tickets HERE
Also happening Saturday, May 24th, is a party from 10am – 10pm. The Festival Village (Morris Brown Stadium) will host musical performances, food, drinks, and TONS of vendors! The parade is free and it’s $15 (in advance) for the Festival Village or $20 at the stadium. TICKETS

If a fete isn’t your style, then you need the cool and relaxing sounds of jazz to fill your soul! Starting this Friday, May 23rd at 5pm, you can enjoy the Atlanta Jazz Festival in Piedmont Park. The festival runs Friday – Sunday and it’s absolutely free! There will be 3 different stages featuring Main, Local, and International talent, with performances from Cyrille Aimée, Russell Gunn, Ahmad Jamal, and more!
Geeks unite! May 23-25 will also host MomoCon! MomoCon began through Anime O-Tekku (Georgia Tech’s anime club). They are the ones responsible for bringing the first MomoCon to the public in 2005; they were greeted by 700+ eager attendees. Every year it gets better and now it draws a large enough crowd to need 2 host hotels (Marriott Marquis and Hilton Atlanta). This year they’re expecting around 15,000 attendees! Feeling artsy? Then you need to ride your bike to the Decatur Arts Festival. This festival kicks off May 23rd (all around Decatur) with an art stroll, followed by 2 days worth of the artist market (downtown Decatur). To find out more about the schedule and how to get there (bikes and Marta are preferred) you can go to their site HERE This event is FREE
The ultimate wine-down (you like that? 😛 ) goes down at Brew at the Zoo. This awesome beer/wine tasting takes place at Zoo Atlanta. Walk around the zoo and enjoy the sights, the pints, and the live music. While you’re there you may even see the new Pandas 😉 Its from 5:30p – 9:30p with a VIP pre-party happening at 4:30p. Get your tickets HERE
Have an awesome and safe holiday weekend and if you can, walk, ride (a bike), or take Marta. There’s going to be a HEAVY flow of people here 🙂
