Following the USMNT (United States Men’s National Team), our ladies are getting ready for their World Cup this summer. The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 will take place in Canada this time around, so close, that those who are true football (soccer) fans have a realistic chance of attending a match.

Similar to the Men, the Women haven’t been given any favors or easy routes in their quest for the cup. Both squads were facing extreme odds as the women found out 2 months ago that they too had been placed in “the group of death.” That group is Group D, which consists of USA, Australia, Sweden, and Nigeria. This Women’s World Cup Squad will feature 2 players from Georgia: Kelley O’Hara (Fayetteville) and Morgan Brian (St. Simon’s Island).

The USWNT’s schedule goes like this:

Match 1 – vs. Australia  Monday, June 8  @7:30p EST, Winnipeg

Match 2 – vs.  Sweden  Friday, June 12 @8p EST, Winnipeg

Match 3 – vs. Nigeria  Tuesday, June 16 @8p EST, Vancouver
