There is no better way to introduce myself than with a corny Adele reference. Starting this beauty blog was something that took me by surprise but I was also very excited to do so. I realized at the end of last year that I never really introduced myself to my readers. You all have no idea what I look like, what my future plans are, etc. I figured I would take some time to introduce myself and give a little history so you really know who is behind these articles that you are reading.
As you may know my name is Keisha Campbell. I am 26 years old and I live in Atlanta. My love for makeup started a few years back. I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my life and one very late night it hit me. What do I spend the majority of my time doing? Watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. I was falling in love with the world of makeup. After this sudden realization I began to practice on myself and experimenting with different makeup techniques that I would find on different channels. I taught myself how to apply makeup from these videos and became very good at it. Eventually I said to myself, “Why don’t you start your own channel?” With no professional camera or earthly idea how to edit videos, I used my then iPhone 4s and a Windows video editing system and I went for it. I would record the videos on my phone, upload them to my computer and with the help of YouTube I learned to edit my videos.
Somewhere along the road I lost my motivation as I hated the quality of my videos and knew that they could be much better. I put my dreams of being a YouTuber on ice while I figured out what I wanted to do. Some time went by and all I talked about was makeup to my friends and family. My mom started helping me look into different schools so that I could get my certification to be a professional makeup artist. Many of the schools I researched included hair styling and only briefly touched on makeup. Being that I’m reluctant to do my own hair I sure was not interested in learning how to do anyone else’s.
One day working at my retail job, (which I hated), I met a young man and he complemented me on my makeup. We sparked up a conversation in which I told him how much I wanted to get my certification but I was having such a hard time finding schools. He quickly recommended Gwynnis Mosby Makeup Academy. I had never heard of this school and it never came up in my searches for schools that specialized in makeup. He spoke so highly of the academy so I spoke with my mom and we decided to set up a visit. As soon as I walked in I felt so comfortable and I knew this was the place for me. After completing the class I received my certification.

Shortly after receiving my professional certification I began working with The Peach Review® on the set of different photo shoots and also working as a Beauty Advisor for Estée Lauder. That brings us to where we are now. I am now the Beauty Contributor for The Peach Review® and I am very excited to announce that I am starting my Sit Pretty YouTube Channel at the end of next month. I have been working very hard to come up with some useful information to share with everyone. I believe everything happens when its supposed to. I’m much more confident when it comes to makeup and I hope everyone enjoys my channel and more articles to come. Now for my big reveal …
This picture is a few years old but trust me I look the same. I was nervous about revealing that I look just like Naomi Campbell but I appreciate you all not judging me. Hopefully my personality comes through in this article and you get to know me a little more.
