Top American players Jack Sock (world ranking #18), John Isner (world ranking #21) and the Bryan Brothers (former world ranking #1) will play a mix of young upstarts and current ATP World Tour top-40 players for the 2017 BB&T Atlanta Open title. The BB&T Atlanta Open, an ATP World Tour 250 event runs Saturday, July 22 through Sunday, July 30, at Atlantic Station, in Midtown Atlanta.
The biggest change to the 2017 tournament was provided by fan feedback, and that input was incorporated into the new stadium design. The new design not only provides more shade and air-conditioned spaces, but more activation areas and activities for fans to be able to be part of the game.
“This new stadium design provides our fans with what they have been asking for, a more intimate feel, more open space for better viewing angles and of course more shade,” said Eddie Gonzalez, Chief Business Officer and Tournament Director for BB&T Atlanta Open. “The men’s Final on Sunday, July 30th is scheduled for later in the day at 5 pm to also help address the summer heat.”
Also a first for the tournament, women will play during tournament week with Venus Williams and Genie Bouchard playing in a feature exhibition match Sunday evening, July 23.
A singles field of 10 top-50 players was announced by Eddie Gonzalez, Chief Business Officer and Tournament Director for BB&T Atlanta Open on Tuesday morning at Media Day.
