During ELEVATE: Enlighten public art festival there will be a special walking tour and bike tour available to the public to promote the discovery and exploration of downtown landmarks and locations that are key to the history and culture of Atlanta. Participants will experience up-close some of the destinations and public artworks that make our great city a welcoming place to live, work and play! Both tours are FREE but a RSVP is required to reserve your space.
Public Art Walking Tour on Saturday, October 21 from 12:30-2:30 pm. This tour will start at Woodruff Park, 91 Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303.
Join the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs’ staff for a walking tour featuring public artwork from their permanent collection, as well as new art in downtown as part of the South Downtown Activation Initiative. You’ll learn about the restoration process the City uses to preserve and protect our public art collection, and you’ll meet some local public artists!

Atlanta’s Journey for Civil Rights Bike Tour hosted by Bicycle Tours of Atlanta on Saturday, October 21 from 2-6 pm. This tour will start at Studioplex, 659 Auburn Ave, Atlanta, GA 30312.
Join us on a fascinating journey through Atlanta’s civil rights history as we connect the dots from the Antebellum South to the present-day. We’ll share key events leading up to the Civil War, Reconstruction subsequent events, and how they gave rise to Atlanta’s history-making African American leaders. You will hear stories of how these men and women overcame and organized, ultimately laid the foundation for the birth of the modern-day Civil Rights Movement.
Guests are invited to ask questions and dive into the conversation. We’ll reflect on the progress we’ve made so far as we continue to strive for comprehensive social justice for all our citizens. You’ll experience Atlanta and “The South” from a fresh perspective.
