Music Monday: Claptone, XIUHTEZCATL, Megan Davies, Chime, Monsta X, Flux Pavilion, Cyran, and Code Red Riot

“Birdsong,” the latest taste of Claptone’s forthcoming second album, Fantast, features vocals by the widely celebrated indie/electronic band, Zola Blood, the four-piece who in 2017 released their long-awaited debut album, ‘Infinite Games’, to significant acclaim. Sharing an ability to create emotive, textured songs, with ‘Birdsong’ both the band and Claptone have created a compelling piece of dancefloor-honed electronic pop.

Claptone is a unique proposition in modern music. Painted as a mythical character shrouded in mystery, Claptone has become one of the biggest names in electronic music whilst himself remaining in the shadows. He has however constantly sought to deepen his own distinctive world, creating a rich tapestry, which tells the Claptone story.

XIUHTEZCATL (pronounced ‘shoo-TEHZ-caht’)— 18-year-old Indigenous rapper and activist released his new single, “Young (ft. Nahko & Shailene Woodley).  The single is a featured track off his forthcoming debut full-length album, BREAK FREE, set to release this summer.

Speaking about the song, singer/songwriter Nahko says, “I speak from a very personally awakened space. It’s hard to talk about the raw stuff that didn’t serve you as a young man, but this track gave us the opportunity to go deeper within our own boundaries and reveal the beautiful mess that makes us human.” Actress/activist, Shailene Woodley shared, “It’s an honor to collaborate with and support my dear friend in spreading strong, thoughtful, and vital messages through his work as an artist and musician”.

Nashville’s Alt-pop artist, Megan Davies is thrilled to unveil the acoustic video for her inspiring new single “Doesn’t Matter.”

Megan says, “My newest single “Doesn’t Matter” was born on an acoustic guitar and perfected on tour the same way. I’m so excited to showcase it stripped down. With the addition of my producer, Mark Siegel & 2 cellists, it’s the most expressive and powerful acoustic release I’ve made to date.”

Following up the release of his debut track on Circus Records “Facepunch” Chime is back on the Circus Records with his first 4-tracker Experience Points.

Drawing inspiration from his love of video games, the EP is an impressive body of work for the up-and-coming Leeds-based producer, with “Facepunch” seeing support from the likes of Excision, Snails, Downlink, LAXX and more.

Kpop sensations MONSTA X, make history with their new EP: The Connect: Dejavu which sold 2,000 traditional albums in the week ending March 29 landing them squarely on the US Billboard Charts.

The bands latest Video “Jealousy” is up to nearly 7 Million views on Youtube and growing daily adding to the over 20 million views of their previous releases. Their style is more aggressive than other artists in the genre combining rap, rock and dance moves to great acclaim amongst fans.

Circus Records co-boss Flux Pavilion returns to the imprint for his first release of 2018, this time teaming up with none other than Meaux Green to present their brand new single “Call To Arms.”

With last year marking Meaux Green’s debut on Circus with Soundkillaz and KO, it’s with pleasure that he’s welcomed back in such fine style.

Back for his second single of the year, the sunshine-loving Californian Cyran returns to Circus  Records with the outstanding “I’m A Winner.” Taking the sun and the west coast vibe, wrapping it up into another distinctive Cyran jam, this guy is unmistakable in sound.

Cyran made his Circus debut with the unforgettable Work EP which included beautiful “Just Like You,” before marking his ground with “Bass Machine,” without a doubt one of the most forward-thinking tracks on Circus Three.

Having originated as a cathartic music outlet for Corky Gainsford (formerly of the Century Media signed outfit Otherwise), CODE RED RIOT are ready to take audiences by storm with their full-length debut,”Mask”, scheduled for release on June 29, 2018, via RED MUSIC / SONY.

Gainsford reveals, ““Living Low” was the first song I wrote specifically for Code Red Riot. The chorus became a proclamation, a mantra, and a war cry to bury my emotional pain of the past and embrace the struggle required to move forward and achieve my next goals in life. Ironically, it was also the song that captured the attention of Sony RED Music, and compelled them to sign the band.”
