Music Monday: Anthony David, YUMI, Moon Boots, Belmont, and QUIX and Vincent

“In many ways Bill Withers is the artist most influential to my music career,” confides singer, musician, and songwriter, Anthony David, who pays homage to the iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Famer with his latest project, Hello Like Before, to be released by Shanachie Entertainment on September 21, 2018.

This is the album that so many have been urging Anthony David to make for years; a heartfelt tribute to Bill Withers, an entire album of interpretations of Withers’ compositions, both famous and obscure.

YUMI showcases her vocal talent and songwriting skills on “With You With Me,” the second single off her forthcoming debut Ego Boost EP. YUMI’s charismatic voice and pensive lyrics melt into the subdued wind chimes and muted synths, which all blend together to create a contemplative listening experience.

Arriving on Dim Mak in 2018 via “Sirens,” YUMI is making her presence known with a steady output of honest, ethereal pop. YUMI is a rising recording artist, model signed to Wilhelmina International, Curve Division, and YouTube personality.

Having accumulated over 13 million streams and garnering global support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, SiriusXM, DJ Mag and Mixmag, Moon Boots’ ambitious 2017 LP First Landing’ cemented the Brooklyn-native as a naturally gifted collaborator, songwriter, and producer. One year on, Moon Boots unveils the highly anticipated ‘First Landing (Remixed)’ album, out now on Anjunadeep.

A must-hear collection of interpretations from the global electronic scene’s most exciting names, ‘First Landing (Remixed)’ brings an all new energy to the original album. From Lifelike’s distinct disco touch on ‘Keep The Faith’, Sydney-native Cassian’s energetic house take on ‘Never Let You Go’, and UK producer Rex Of Dog’s off-kilter reimagining of the title track ‘First Landing’, each remix is decidedly distinct from the next.

Belmont’s self-titled debut full-length is out August 17th through Mutant League Records. The critically-hailed album was mixed and mastered by Dan Korneff (Breaking Benjamin, Paramore) and engineered by Jason Inguagiato at Graphic Nature Studio.

The band is currently on a headline tour with direct support from Such Gold(all dates), plus Southpaw (8/13-8/25), Intervention (8/25-9/5) and Chief State (9/6-9/14).

Two of the most forward-thinking artists in bass music, QUIX and Vincent, unite on Dim Mak single “Hero (feat. David Shane),” premiered today on RunTheTrap. Layering passionate vocals over sophisticated production, the duo offers the ultimate melodic trap finesse.

Amidst a dynamic year which included a Coachella debut performance, a Las Vegas residency at Drai’s, select dates on Steve Aoki’s Kolony US Tour, and festival performances at Electric Forest, Shambhala, Bassrush, Wobbleland and Dim Mak Neighborhood in Brooklyn, New Zealand native QUIX maintains his heavy-hitting style on his latest offering “Hero.” Following his most recent singles “Fatality” and Matrodacollaboration “LAMBO,” QUIX continuously reaffirms his unparalleled approach to music production through his wholly unique hip-hop-meets-trap sound. These new releases build off a monumental 2017, when he dropped his debut EP Heaps Cool, collaborated with Gucci Mane and UZ, performed at EDC Las Vegas, Electric Zoo, and headlined dates around the globe. QUIX’s worldwide takeover doesn’t stop here; amongst the array of venues he’ll be hitting in the near future, this weekend he’s scheduled to play at Das Energi in Salt Lake City, UT.
