Hey everyone! We are happy to bring you our 23rd issue of The Peach Review® Magazine and our last edition of 2018. Before we begin we’d like to thank you, our readers, for your support. We are truly grateful that so many of you have decided to read our content, subscribe to our email list, and follow us across our social media. We greatly appreciate it. Now on to the good stuff!
Full-transparency, we went back and forth on what should be the cover for the final issue of the year. While Tiger Woods initially seemed to fit the bill since he won the TOUR Championship in the most dramatic fashion ever seen at a golfing event, we felt the honor should rightfully fall to Atlanta United. Not just any player either team favorite, Miguel “Miggy” Almirón dons the cover with the now infamous 2018 MLS Cup trophy. Now read on to learn more about Beyoncé, the Atlanta Opera, Infinity Mirrors, Sam Smith, and every single Anime/Gaming convention imaginable!
So like the headline says, we have all the good stuff this go-round. We’ll leave embeds by section so you can go straight to the action. First off we’ll get to the Arts section. Winnie-the-Pooh, Infinity Mirrors, and a handful of theatrical performances round out a fantastic 2018.
Is fashion your thing? Did you miss Jeffrey Fashion Cares? It’s the biggest fashion event every year in Atlanta and if you weren’t there this year you need to make plans for 2019… Like… Now.
Momocon, Dragoncon, Atlanta Comic Con, and Anime Weekend Atlanta round out the con experience here in Atlanta. Each one different than the other has a broad array to offer everyone. Cosplay? You got it. Want to support Indie Game Developers and Comics? You can do that too. Want to meet your favorite stars you never thought you’d get to see? They have that too. Cosplay, comics, interviews, video games and more awaits you!
Our neighbors to the northwest in Nashville had a con of their own called Crime Con. Our Lauren Brumley was on the scene to share in the awesomeness with all of you True Crime fans. She watched a handful of early screeners and had a chance to talk with Nancy Grace about her podcast and Alex Paxton-Beesley, one of the lead actors in WGN America’s “Pure” debuting in January!
We deliver all of the best movies of the latter half of the year in one section with our movie reviews. Incredibles 2, Mid90’s, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse are just a few that are featured.
Atlanta boasts one of the most diverse music scenes I’ve ever seen (and I’ve lived all over the country). We have everything from Sam Smith and Digable Planets to Drake and Goo Goo Dolls. Check out all of our concert reviews! (and yes that includes Beyoncé)
There were lots of concerts but there was nothing quite like Imagine Music Festival. We are proud to have supported them every year since their inaugural festival just five years ago at Old Fourth Ward Park. Now they’re at the Atlanta Speedway! Talk about growth!
We have some great reporting from Mike Brown in support of U.S. Soccer when the men took on Brazil and our Editor-in-Chief wrote about our World Cup-winning ladies hosting Chile.
Our final two features we’re going to share are two major victories this last quarter. Tiger Woods winning the TOUR Championship and Atlanta United bringing home the league title by winning the MLS Cup. Be on the lookout for an extensive look at Atlanta United’s trip the trophy in the coming weeks.
Thanks again for supporting us and the magazine. Now through January, we have another exciting series happening that you can follow on our website or through Facebook and YouTube called “PEOPLE.” There we’ve featured our best interviews through this year including Marvel Studios VP Mitch Bell, Chris Sabat (voices Vegeta from Dragon Ball), Kyle Hebert (voices Gohan from Dragon Ball), Nancy Grace, and many more. Subscribe to our YouTube, like us on Facebook, subscribe to our Podcast, and follow us on Instagram and Twitter. We have even BIGGER plans for 2019 so stay tuned and keep reading!
