Atlanta United returns to action Sunday when it hosts Chicago Fire at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 6 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on UniMas and live streamed on Twitter.

Atlanta United is 3-1-0 all-time against Chicago Fire in regular season play and has won both home matches: 4-0 at Bobby Dodd Stadium in 2017 and 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium last season. Josef Martinez leads Atlanta with three goals against Chicago. Atlanta will play its second straight home match in a week before an international break with its next MLS match on June 26 at Toronto FC.

Atlanta defeated Minnesota United 3-0 on May 29 to earn its fourth consecutive home win, all clean sheets. Franco Escobar scored his first goal of the season and Josef Martinez added his seventh and eighth goals for his 14th multigoal game in MLS, the most in the league since 2017. Chicago forward Nemanja Nikolic and Montreal’s Ignacio Piatti are tied for second with nine each. Atlanta also kept its seventh clean sheet of the season, which is tied for the most in MLS with D.C. United. With one more clean sheet, Brad Guzan will match the club record for clean sheets in a single season.

Chicago is coming off a 3-3 draw at D.C. United on May 29 and heads to Atlanta for its second away match this week. Early goals from CJ Sapong and Djordje Mihailovic gave Chicago a 2-0 lead, however D.C. United scored three unanswered goals before Fire defender Francisco Calvo scored the equalizer in stoppage time to earn a draw. Chicago has drawn its last two matches and sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings heading into the weekend. The Fire have yet to win a game away from home this season, posting a 0-4-3 away record. CJ Sapong leads the Fire with six goals while new signing Nicolás Gaitan has a team-high five assists in 10 games played.
