Campeones Cup is an annual matchup that pits the MLS Cup champion against the winners of LIGA MX’s Campeon de Campeones.

Atlanta United will try to win their first international title, while LIGA MX will determine its representative on July 14 at the Campeon de Campeones match where Club America (2018 Apertura champion) faces Tigres UANL (2019 Clausura champion).

An important pillar of the partnership between MLS and LIGA MX is to have a positive impact in the community hosting Campeones Cup. This year Atlanta United, MLS, and LIGA MX will partner with the Latin American Association (LAA) in Atlanta to improve the workspace of its youth mentoring program. This program empowers the Latino community to adapt, integrate and thrive. More details about this program will be made available.

Atlanta United earned the right to host Campeones Cup when the club secured its first-ever MLS Cup championship last December. A week later, Club America secured its 13th LIGA MX championship.

Tigres UANL won the first edition of Campeones Cup, when the Monterrey-based club defeated Toronto FC 3-1 on Sept. 19, 2018, at BMO Field in Toronto.
