Merkules announces his Special Occasion album, due out November 1, and drops the lead single “Bass” feat. Hopsin and Tech N9ne. With Special Occasion, Merkules showcases the blunt, honest lyricism that has carried him from the Canadian underground to a major record deal with RBC/BMG.

Merkules has accumulated more than 316 million YouTube views, surpassed 50 million streams across platforms, and received two nominations for a Western Canadian Music Award. His “Old Town Road” remix went viral earlier this year, and “All Night Long,” the first piece of audio from Special Occasion, gained more than 1.5 million views in just two weeks. Special Occasion is far more than just Merkules resting on his laurels

“Without” feat. Dani Poppitt lulls listeners in with beautiful piano and vocal, but stay tuned and FuntCase treats us to his classic slashing bass and stabbing sonics. The aptly named “Devastation” closes proceedings in dramatic fashion, wrapping up a 2019 magnum opus of distorted filth.

“‘Bottle Top Trance’ is another ode to music I loved when I was growing up. So much of my music is quite serious, but here I wanted to draw influence from some of the classic, Euro-dance and trance ear-worms that I listened to when I grow up – music that was made for big dancefloor moments, but had a sense of fun to it… almost bordering on silliness.” –Andrew Bayer

The second single to be taken from the forthcoming ’Parallels EP,’ ‘Bottle Top Trance’ is already established as an Above & Beyond set favorite as well as taking Record Of The Week on their Group Therapy radio show. Andrew Bayer will be touring ‘Parallels’ across North America across fall, staring with District in Atlanta on September 27th. Full dates below.

Brooklyn based artist Elliot Lee fuses dark pop melodies with edgy vocals and innovative electronic soundscapes to create an unpredictable sound, acting as a voice for the voiceless. Having grown up in a nomadic lifestyle that carried her family around the country, Elliot Lee found stability in the universality of music. With an admiration for the lulling alt-pop of artists like Billie Eilish and Lana Del Ray and the homegrown rebellion of Twenty One Pilots, Lee comes through with a catchy single entitled, “Upside Down”.

“Upside Down” is about feeling like you are at the bottom of the world, always in the worst headspace and always running into obstacles in the path toward a fulfilling life, and wishing it could all be the exact opposite. The empowering track emits an uplifting feeling through its crispy beats and fast-paced vocals.
