Music Monday: MSPUIYI, The Rumjacks, Parov Stelar, Zafrir, and Rotten Mind

Today, we’re hitting you with a brand new release from Purple Fly record label. “Men-Mory” is a perfectly produced pop track, which sees the top Malaysian influencer and model MSPUIYI debuting as a singer in collaboration with Malaysia’s biggest DJ & award-winning producer Goldfish (Universal Music, Warner Music, Interscope Records, Revealed Recordings, Armada). “Men-Mory” is a unique addition to Purple Fly’s catalog, which has previously released tracks from Futuristic Polar Bears, DJ SODA, Laidback Luke, BLVD., Fatman Scoop, Shaquille O’Neal, Sevenn, and more.

Celtic punks The Rumjacks have dropped a new single titled “Bounding Main” off their forthcoming ‘Brass For Gold’ EP out Feb. 11. The band has also announced new U.S. headline tour dates which kick off in May. The shows will be preceded by a stint as one of two support acts on Dropkick Murphys’ 2022 St. Patrick’s Day Tour of the U.S. That trek kicks off on February 21 and runs through March 20th.

Internationally renowned Austrian artist Parov Stelar is back on the release radar with his first official release of 2022, ‘Candy Girl’. The electro-infused swing single features harmonious French vocals courtesy of Vallemarie, and directly follows up Stelar’s critically-acclaimed 2021 tracks ‘Chambermaid Mash-Up Swing’ and ‘Keine Melodien…1,2,3,4,5’.

“Digital Culture” is the brand new release from Israeli multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Zafrir. On January 21, he released a 4-track EP on Purple Fly, which blends raw instruments from different cultures (all played by Zafrir himself) with ethnic music, which fully showcases his unprecedented talents (he can play over 20 instruments). For this new EP, Zafrir also enlisted Anna Timofei – one of three winners of X Factor Israel 2015, and Marina Maximilian – Israeli multi-platinum singer and Netflix star, whose vocal performances elevate the EP to new heights.

Punchy punk clashes with cinematic darkwave on Rotten Mind’s new single “Drifter”. The track is the second single from the group’s upcoming, fifth studio album “Unflavored”, to be released in March 2022. Energetic, yet drenched in gloomy melodies, “Drifter” sets itself apart as one of the most straightforward tracks on Rotten Mind’s new album.
