Atlanta United today announced it has loaned midfielder Franco Ibarra to Toronto FC for the remainder of the 2023 season in exchange for $50,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money. Atlanta retains Ibarra’s contract rights beyond this season.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined Atlanta United prior to the 2021 season as a U-22 initiative signing. He has played 53 MLS matches in his career for the club, including 17 matches this season.

Prior to his move to MLS, Ibarra had played with Argentinos Juniors since 2010 and progressed through the youth system before making his first team debut in December 2019. In all, he made 11 total appearances for the club before making the move to Atlanta.

Transaction: Atlanta United loans Franco Ibarra to Toronto FC for the remainder of the season in exchange for $50,000 in 2023 GAM.
