With tonight’s 1-0 win over the North Carolina Courage, the Washington Spirit clinched home-field advantage for the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of its 2024 playoff campaign.
The Washington Spirit’s home quarterfinal match will take place on Sunday, November 10 at Audi Field, kicking off at 12:30 p.m. EST against the league’s No. 7 seed. Depending on the results of tomorrow’s NWSL action, the Spirit will host either Bay FC, the Chicago Red Stars or Portland Thorns FC. Fans can secure their tickets to the Spirit’s home quarterfinal match presented by Fanatics Sportsbook here. Should the Spirit win next weekend’s quarterfinal, it would host its first NWSL semifinal in club history, having previously played four semifinal contests on the road (2014, 2015, 2016, 2021).
The Spirit, led by star Trinity Rodman’s career high eight goals and six assists, completed its best regular season in club history since its founding in 2012 this year. With a record of 18-6-2 (56 points) this year’s team set new club records in wins (18, also tying the league’s single season record), points (56) and goals scored (51).
The 2024 NWSL Playoffs will begin next weekend with the eight-team quarterfinal round, followed by the semifinals taking place on November 16 and 17. On Saturday, November 23, the 2024 NWSL Championship will take place in Kansas City, Missouri at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium purpose-built for professional women’s soccer.
