Swiss and Uruguayan production pair Sparrow & Barbossa have become a conduit for global-minded music, shining a light on Latin American influences through a sound they have coined as ‘Caribbean House’ while establishing themselves as a chart-topping act in afro house. In 2020, they kicked up a storm with their remix of Malian singer/songwriter and guitarist Fatoumata Diawara’s striking composition “Nterini,” which told the compelling story of a migrant and the heartache endured from being separated from her true love.

The duo is now teaming up with Mexico City’s own Luch to give a new lease on life for the offering via “Nterini 2.0,” revisiting the poetic vocals sung in her native West African dialect, adding onto the critically acclaimed backbone with vibrant tribal percussion, wistful piano motifs, airy atmospherics, jangling keys, and warm, atonal textures adding more emotional depth to the piece.

Veteran punk rock and emo band No Motiv has released a newly re-recorded version of “Never Ending Cloudy Day”, a song originally featured on their 1996 LP Cynical. Revisiting this early piece of their history, the band breathes new life into a track that remains just as relevant today as it was nearly three decades ago.

NYC’s Max Satow, professionally know as Noshows is thrilled to release his Debut EP Tightrope that is out now on all platforms. Tightrope was co-produced/co-written with two-time Grammy winner Marc Swersky (Joe Cocker, Little Stranger) and mixed by Seth Von Paulus(Smashing Pumpkins, Linda Perry).

Packed with innovation and raw intensity, RayRay and DJ Mii’s debut collaboration, “I Think I Like You” (feat. CHYL), delivers a genre-blurring thrill ride through Speed House, Dubstep, and Hardstyle, featuring a relentless bassline and explosive half-time drops.

The three producers prove to be masterminds with their impeccable hybrid bass production on this collaboration. Drawing from all three of their signature sounds, and with a high pitched Night Core inspired vocal, the single is an absolute showstopper.

French hitmakers Oden & Fatzo return to Defected alongside frequent collaborator THEOS with ‘Only You’ featuring Noa Milee. 2024 marked an incredible year for Oden & Fatzo, who soared to new heights by releasing the summer smash ‘Tell Me What You Want’ with Poppy Baskcomb. The now Defected staple earned over a thousand spins across UK radio alone, culminating in a live PA with Poppy at Defected’s Ushuaïa Ibiza residency.
