Sunday night, BUSH performed to a very lively and interactive audience at State Farm Arena. The British rock group features lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Gavin Rossdale, lead guitarist Chris Taylor, bassist Corey Britz, and drummer Nik Hughes.

BUSH is one of the special guests on the Shinedown “Dance, Kid, Dance” Tour. The performers celebrated past and current songs, and for BUSH, that included their latest (#10) album titled “I Beat Loneliness.” Then Shinedown delivered a visual and musical spectacle to cap it off.

BUSH gave an incredible performance, full of energy and awesome music. Gavin Rossdale, being the tour vet that he is, fed into the crowd’s energy and engaged with all sides and levels of State Farm Arena. Their set was a perfect blend of old and new (music). We heard old favorites like “Everything Zen” and “Machinehead”, classics that illuminate memories of childhood. Then we also heard tracks off their new album, I Beat Loneliness, like “Scars” and “The Land of Milk and Honey.”

A touching moment occurred when Rossdale performed a magical solo of their hit “Glycerin” in a tribute to Brent Hinds of Atlanta heavy metal band Mastodon. Hinds, the band’s co-founder, passed away tragically from a Motorcycle accident on August 20. The loss has devastated the music community at large, especially here in Atlanta and Hinds’ hometown of Pelham, Alabama.

Shinedown truly put on a show, both musically and visually. The production value was massive, featuring sensational lighting and pyrotechnics. They played hits like “Second Chance” and “Planet Zero” to keep the crowd going.

A powerful night of music where, by the end of the night, I felt a part of a community full of love and respect for one another. I had no idea how the artists were going to gel, but it all culminated into a breathtaking show.
