After releasing a list of nominees last Friday, the Georgia Film Critics Association (GAFCA) is pleased to announce the winners and runners-up for the 2025 GAFCA Awards.
“One Battle After Another” was the big winner, taking home five awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for and Best Adapted Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Supporting Actor for Benicio del Toro and Best Ensemble. “Sinners” received four awards, including Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song. “Sinners” was also runner-up in five additional categories.
Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for “Marty Supreme,” Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for “Hamnet,” and Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for “Weapons.” “Weapons” also won the Oglethorpe Award for Excellence in Georgia Cinema. Miles Caton won the Breakthrough Award.
Founded in 2011, this year marks the 15th anniversary of the awards program for the critics group. GAFCA is made up of over 50 film critics from around the state, representing print, television, radio, and online media.
