The Washington Spirit will host a quarterfinal match in the 2026 NWSL Playoffs, presented by Google Pixel, next Sunday, November 8, at 3:00 PM/ET at Audi Field, the NWSL announced today. The match will air on ABC. With today’s 2-0 home win over Chicago Stars FC, the Spirit clinched the third overall seed in the upcoming postseason and will take on sixth-place Portland Thorns FC in the opening round. An own-goal from Michelle Alozie and U.S. National Team star Trinity Rodman handed the Spirit the win. A last minute roster move, the activation of defender Casey Krueger, was the icing on the cake for fans at Audi Field.

Across the past two seasons, Washington has sold out four home playoff matches as a combined 77,160 fans cheered the side on to thrilling wins and two NWSL Championship berths. Since the start of 2024, Washington has tallied 48 total regular season wins, finishing in the top three on the table each season. With a final 2026 regular season record of 17-9-4 (55 points), the Spirit will kick off its third straight postseason run in front of a home crowd at Audi Field next weekend, looking to win the club’s second NWSL Championship later this month in DC.
