Atlanta Jazz Festival Celebrates 35 Years of Southern Hospitality and World Class Jazz
Good day to all of our Peach Review readers!-
Atlanta has been buzzing since April 1st and for good reason. We stated back in February that you were going to see an increase in blog postings because the city breaks out of it’s cabin fever mind state and unleashes a barrage of festivals! May will be no different, and the city of Atlanta is now referring to next month as “31 Days of Jazz,” in honor of the Atlanta Jazz Festival.
The Atlanta Jazz Festival has teamed up with parks, restaurants, clubs and venues around Atlanta to host jazz related events for the entire month of May. Imagine this people…. every day a jazz related event? For a month? That means not one person in this city has any excuse to not attend at least…..5 events! (and yes you could see 1, but 31 days of Jazz? If you attended every Saturday of the month thats 4 events right there!)
The Atlanta Jazz Festival is being held on Memorial Day weekend May 26-28 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. On top of that this year will be the 35th anniversary of the event and what better way to celebrate than packing the entire month of May with pure jazz?!
We are very excited to be covering the AJF (Atlanta Jazz Festival) this year and we have a list of most of the activities for you. To find out more about the festival including artists, contact information, directions, etc, you can visit the Atlanta Jazz Festival website at AJF
Remember, these are just SOME of the many events that are being held during the month of May. Visit the website to get the rundown of everything that’s happening around the city. This list alone provides plenty of activities for you, friends, and family and most of them are free. But again, by visiting the website you can get all the information in full about all of these activities and more. So make sure you visit at least 4! That’s 1 event every weekend! No excuses people, there’s 31 days of events so we’re challenging you to see at least 1 a week! Plus you might run into us while you’re there 🙂

******UPDATE********
The official sponsor hotel of the AJF is the Loews Hotel in midtown (1065 Peachtree Street). They are offering a $139 per night rate during the festival — you just have to ask for the Atlanta Jazz Festival rate. They are located two blocks from the entrance to Piedmont Park, so it’s very convenient.

Tell me which are the best jazz clubs of Atlanta (general program over the year, the way musicians are treated (in a very good way of course 🙂 ) the warm welcome of the audience…) and I can add them on the lists of my blog ! The purpose of the lists is not to make a compilation but to take the best ones. Thank you for you help and for sharing with us these info about the festival !
Enjoy your jazzy day,
