We hope everyone is enjoying their week 🙂 This past Sunday we made our way to Midtown to visit our friends at El Azteca. If we need to be specific it’s actually right on the edge of Buckhead/Midtown 😀 Either way, they’re winning because they are ITP (Inside The Perimeter) 🙂

Everyone was excited to have our team meeting at El Azteca (and I’m sure the Falcons game had NOTHING to do with that, but I digress) and I’m glad we did. Once we arrived we were greeted by countless employees even before we entered their establishment. Once inside the smiling hostess told us it would be a few minutes for our table but to enjoy ourselves and watch the game. Although they had a buffet option (that ran until 4pm) we all opted to order from menus.

Our waiter Alex was amazing and was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food. While making suggestions on what to order he mentioned that their restaurant orders their meat from Buckhead Beef (a very reputable meat wholesaler). There were 5 of us total and here’s what we ordered:

Enchiladas Supremas- Combination of four enchiladas: one chicken, one bean, one cheese, and one beef, topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, special sauce and sour cream

Fiesta Del Mar- Pan-grilled shrimp, scallops, tilapia fillet served over a bed of fresh sautéed spinach and poblano peppers finished with a tequila lime cilantro sauce (the description alone should make you want to try this one!)

Beef Quesadillas – Steak with cheese, peppers and onions garnished with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo.

Chicken Quesadillas – Grilled chicken with cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo.

Vegetarian Plate – spinach enchiladas w/mushrooms, cheese, rice and beans

While we waited for our food to arrive Alex brought us drinks in the form of a very fine rice milk called Horchata. Best tasting milk any of us have ever tried. It tastes like milk with an aggressive zest of cinnamon; a combination that none of us could’ve expected. By the time we finished raving about our Horchata our food had arrived. Everyone was chatting about our food and the game.

One of the great things about this El Azteca location is that there were enough people there to feel like there was a crowd, but it wasn’t overflowing with people. You could still walk to the buffet and not wait, chat with people about the game, and eat your food comfortably. There were people spread about outside and inside but it wasn’t superfluous. Nobody likes to feel crowded and there were just enough people for everyone to enjoy the game. It’s not just a great restaurant, but a great Sunday spot too.

We honestly can’t say anything bad about the El Azteca Buckhead location because everything was great. We received hot food in a timely manner, everyone treated us kindly (even before they knew who we were), our waiter Alex was great, and the manager Carlos was extremely kind. To echo our Fashion Writer, “Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I was highly impressed by the amazing service that my team and I received while dining at El Azteca!” We will definitely be back, and for those of you that want an amazing experience of your own? They’re located at:
1784 Peacthree St.
Atlanta, GA 30309

So make sure and stop by and grab some great food while watching our undefeated Falcons take flight!
