First Friday Returns to Floataway Community October 4

Floataway Community’s third First Friday event to include fiesta fare, live music and festivities

Floataway Community, Atlanta’s vibrant artist enclave located on Zonolite Road, continues its First Friday series with an even bigger block party event on Friday, October 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A break away from the typical fall festival, First Friday welcomes fall with creativity, exploration and fiesta-style fare.

Once a forgotten cluster of warehouses, Floataway Community has been reborn into a thriving mixed-use development featuring open-air office space, casual and upscale dining options, burgeoning gardens and more. First Friday celebrates the season by offering Atlantans a one-of-a-kind opportunity to stroll through the vibrant urban space and experience the community’s local artisans and creative studios.

While enjoying exhibits from community tenants such as Quickshot, Motorcar Studio, Garnish & Gather, Invictus Forge, Habersham Gardens and more, guests will imbibe with complimentary cocktails and ice cold brews from Georgia Crown and savor tasty taqueria bites from Floataway native, Sol Catering. For evening entertainment, live tunes from indie-pop group Paul Melancon and the New Insecurities will ring through the autumn air.

As part of the interactive block party experience, family and friends are invited to experience Nickel Bottom Community Garden. Adjacent to Floataway Community, this enchanting urban oasis has blossomed into a cherished gathering spot where neighbors can replenish their spirits, community and land. Guests may explore the garden’s quaint meadow and stroll across the bridge to hike winding paths along historic Peachtree Creek.

Nestled in northeast Atlanta, Floataway Community is located near Emory Point, Morningside and Virginia Highland neighborhoods. Visitors are encouraged to park in front of 1145 and 1155 buildings along Zonolite Road. First Friday festivities will take place overlooking Nickel Bottom Garden behind the 1145 building. All guests are welcome.
