Hunger Games 2

In the second installment of the series, Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) returns home after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). The happiness is short-lived as their victory comes with sacrifice in the form of a “Victor’s Tour”, where they must leave their families once again and tour the districts, acknowledging those who died in the Games. But as they begin their tour both Katniss and Peeta have a strange feeling. An odd feeling that they can’t seem to shake. They both notice as they continue their tours that the districts are up in arms and fail to acquiesce to authority so easily. Is there a hint of rebellion in the air?

President Snow (Donald Sutherland) can sense it too and is determined to show the districts and the capital that he is still, very much in control of things. A way of doing this is changing up the rules in preparation for the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell). With a surprise that nobody sees coming, the tributes for the Quarter Quell … well we shouldn’t tell you that 🙂

Make sure you go see it because there are a few surprises AND it’s just awesome. It’s about 2hrs and 20 mins so make sure you have some space in your day. We saw the 2D version but I can tell you just from what we saw, the 3D version should be legit! 9.5 out of 10. Side note: It hauled in $307.7 million globally this past weekend! 😉
