Atlanta United today announced a week of celebrations from Sept. 5-10 to commemorate the club moving into its new home at Mercedes-Benz Stadium ahead of the Sept. 10 match versus FC Dallas. For full details, visit here.
The club is kicking off March to Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 5 with Takeover Tuesday. Fans are encouraged to hang their Atlanta United flags around the city, as the club will be looking for flags and selecting winners for the rest of the season.
Wednesday, Sept. 6 is Community Day. With the September launch of the club’s Kick Childhood Cancer campaign, Atlanta United and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will be partnering in a series of events centered around bringing exceptional experiences to the children they serve. Activities for the inaugural event will include room visits from Atlanta United players, as well as crafts and games for patients and their families to enjoy.
Join Atlanta United on Thursday, Sept. 7 for Pick-Up Night at Station Soccer. Live music, ticket giveaways, and fan prizes are just some of the fun activities Atlanta United will have on site.
Sept. 8 is 5-Stripe Friday. Sport your inaugural season kits at work and around town, take a picture and upload it to social media with the hashtag #5StripeFriday. And tune into our social channels as some of Atlanta’s finest shout out the red, black and gold.
The final event before match day will be a Pub Crawl on Saturday, Sept. 9. in collaboration with Atlanta Sport and Social Club that will make its way through some of the best bars and restaurants in Atlanta. The pub crawl starts at Molly B’s in Mercedes-Benz Stadium and will continue throughout Castleberry Hill. Each participant 21 and older will get complimentary drinks, a commemorative Atlanta United t-shirt, and special food and drink specials at each participating bar. The event will run from 12:30 pm – 5 pm.
The week culminates with Atlanta United’s debut in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 10. The Five Stripes will face FC Dallas, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. EST. Show up early to take care of all the pregame festivities as we prepare to turn Mercedes-Benz Stadium red, black, and gold.
