Music Monday: Gunnar Gehl, Hong Kong Boyfriend, winterforever, WinWel, and DLMT

Teen pop heartthrob, Gunnar Gehl is thrilled to release his new single “She’s In My Head” that is out now along with the music video. At just 19-years-old, Gunnar signed to Scooter Braun management and has been working with some of the best writers in the world. The young and developing anthemic pop artist from Southern California’s live performance is pure fun. He’s toured across the world playing venues of all sizes and is looking forward to his breakout year.

Bay Area-raised orchestra kid turned alt-R&B act Hong Kong Boyfriend is thrilled to release his new single “see u dance”. Rob Sanders renamed himself after he was rejected by a girl with a long-distance boyfriend in Hong Kong. Jokingly, he says the name gives him the confidence to be whoever he wants to be. In his work, like his stunning debut “Colde Waters,” Hong Kong Boyfriend appears brave, self-assured but honest enough to admit his feelings.

winterforever is a post-hardcore band from Boise, Idaho. What started as a small side project in 2018 quickly grew into something much bigger than it was ever supposed to be. Honest and desperate are the first words that come to mind when asked about the context of winterforever’s songs. Corey Hugo explores themes of uncertainty, regret, and self-worth, and attempts to navigate the toll they take on a person’s well-being.

The combination of lullabies, bass, kicks and snares was a daydream before sleep master WinWel graced our ears. This EP is a homage to bedtime, a selection of music to destress the highest of blood pressures and calmly sooth you into relaxation, as you sip your hot beverage and wonder what dreams may come in slumber. Welcome to the most delicate bass EP you will likely receive, as WinWel bids you ‘Sweet Dreams’.

DLMT shifts gears to an expertly crafted piano-house production on “Don’t Wanna Wait,” layered with cathartic, soulful vocals from the UK’s Laura Davie. Following the success of his most recent single, “Better Off (ft. Sara Diamond),” which is currently featured in Apple Music’s New in Dance and Future Dance Hits playlists, DLMT fully displays his musical versatility.
