Music Monday: New Friends, MUST DIE!, Angelica Bias, Phoneboy, Kingfish ft. Big K.R.I.T., and Callie Reiff

Canadian indie pop/alternative band New Friends is thrilled to release their new single “Waste My Time” which is out now. “Waste My Time” is off their forthcoming EP to be released in early 2023.

Continuing his tear of monstrous releases this summer, MUST DIE! shares “KEEP U SAFE.” The single is a chaotic blend of bass, in the best way;  with vocals reminiscent of nightcore, paired with a wonky bassline, and an insane switch-up.

Angelica Bias (pronounced Bee-ahs) released a new single titled, “No Lames In The VIP”. The beautiful songstress previously released music under the duo 630 with her husband, artist, producer, and songwriter, Josh Bias, co-founder of their independent label, 630 Productions. Her new solo track, produced by Josh Bias and Jeremy Green, is the “No Scrubs” and “No Pigeons” for today’s generation. The messaging is sound: set boundaries, keep your circle tight, and your standards high.

Indie rock band, Phoneboy is thrilled to release their new single “Runaway” that’s out now. The band says, “This song is basically describing a manic episode. Young adults are especially prone to overthink their purpose, how people perceive them, and their complacency.”

GRAMMY-winning blues guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and groundbreaking indie hip hop star (and fellow Mississippian) Big K.R.I.T. teamed up for “Another Life Goes By” (Mississippi Mix).

The remix was produced, mixed, and mastered by GRAMMY winner Tom Hambridge and features a captivating rap to Kingfish’s moving, thought-provoking lyrics, seamlessly blending hip hop’s raw urgency with the timelessness of the blues.

Callie Reiff has been a shining light and emerging artist on Dim Mak since the beginning of the year. But now, she’s inked an official deal with Steve Aoki’s famed imprint, a partnership between Callie’s management company Seven20 and Dim Mak, where the label will focus on publishing and licensing, while Callie Reiff’s team focuses on her live shows and merch.

With this exciting signing also comes her new single “Chain Reaction.” The sassy release from Callie combines fun elements of electro-pop, with an indie vocal and unmissable groove.
